72Having a Thankful Heart:)
Good for the soul....
This last weekend, I had the opportunity to get away, tag along with the guys, while they went fishing. I could just relax, or go site seeing, what ever I wanted to do… then anxiety set in.
There was a problem…the day we were getting ready to go, I started to get depressed, was not motivated. Decided maybe I shouldn’t go, to just stay home…work on some projects, that need to get done. Next thing I knew, the negative thoughts were flowing into my head, and affecting my heart. The enemy was feeding me some more lies, then backing them up with reasons.
The phone rang, it was a friend….she said, are you ready to go? I said no…she said, did you make a list? I explained we did the night before. So then she asked how many things have you gotten done on your list? I had to say none:( She said, what? Nothing?…what are you going to do when your husband gets home? I told her, I would be in trouble! So she said, I’m coming over...I will help you get organized, and ready to be out the door. Wooo!, I was already relieved, just knowing help was on its way:)
Another awesome friend! I have to say this was the quickest, I was ever able...to get out the door when it was time to go. My husband was impressed:) I told him my friend came over and helped make sure I was ready.
All of this to say, that once I got out…I was fine. Everything was taken care of, friends house sitting, the house clean, and things I was going to work on, were still there when I got back. The truth is when we got home; I had more energy to work on the projects, and to do it with a song in my heart.
The weekend was beautiful, the most beautiful it had been there, in a long time. Once the guys left to go fishing, and after I made them their lunch, I went back to bed. I was surprised I slept till 9:00am. I read, prayed, and rested…then I wrote! What a blessing I felt this morning as I wrote the words that were on my heart: see below the written prayer!
Prayer:
"Lord God, I am so thankful for the air you give me, breathing in and out, knowing you are the one who sustains my life. You love me enough, to know when I need a break...a change of scenery. It feels good to just relax, no interruptions. Giving my body a rest...even my mind and my soul. My feet are tingling, my heart is calm, and my mind is at ease...as you Lord replenish my being:)
The sea is calm, as my soul is calm. I came to this place where the river meets the ocean...with so many things to do, yet for now...you want me to just be. Thank you God, for lavishing me with your love, on this clear and beautiful day! In this place with such a view and lots of light.
So peaceful is this place of rest:) Now with song, I praise thee..."My God is so Glorious, Miraculous and Marvelous, He is My God!" He is a God who hears my prayers, and gives me rest when I need it. I do praise Him for this day of goodness and light...and the freedom to write.
Writing from my heart, the things He's showing me today! Time to open the doors and let His fresh air come in! I see the light, I feel the breeze, I hear the ocean and the seagulls sing:) My mind has become clear...as the sea breeze, my soul calm as the river moves, and the fresh air I breathe, moves in conjunction with the waves.
I Thank You, Lord God of the Heavens...and Creator of the Earth, for sharing Nature with Me! You are Miraculous and Wonderful to Me!

Lovely thoughts and I love the prayer! So often, we focus on the negative instead of all the blessings in our lives. Even difficult situations can be re-cast in our minds with a different outlook.

Thanks for sharing this insightful aspect of how we can listen to our head and not our heart sometimes which can get us into trouble if we do it often enough. We all need the calm, quiet resting place more often.
